Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding "100th Anniversary of His Majesty’s Birth, Continuing His Majesty’s Wishes to the Chaipattana EGAT Community” Project
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has graciously granted a permission to the Chaipattana Foundation, in collaboration with the Utokapat Foundation under Royal Patronage and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), to sign a memorandum of understanding for the "100th Anniversary of His Majesty’s Birth: Upholding His Royal Aspirations for the Community – Chaipattana & EGAT Project." This initiative aims to preserve, sustain, and build upon the royal aspirations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and to express profound gratitude for His Majesty’s boundless benevolence. The project commemorates the 100th anniversary of His Majesty’s birth on December 5, 2027.
This initiative represents a shared commitment among the three organizations to enhance community development efforts through a model of creating shared value between organizations and society. The collaboration aims to transfer knowledge on natural resource and environmental management, agricultural development, social development, water resource management, and energy, tailored to the specific contexts of communities surrounding EGAT’s operational areas. The goal is to improve the well-being and self-sufficiency of these communities while fostering sustainable economic, social, and environmental development. The project will be implemented over a period of 10 years (2024–2031).
On 3 December 2024, Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Member and Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation; Dr. Royol Chitradon, Member and Secretary-General of the Utokapat Foundation under Royal Patronage; and Mr. Theprat Theppitak, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote the sustainable improvement of the quality of life for communities surrounding EGAT’s operational areas. The signing ceremony took place at the 50th Anniversary Building, EGAT Headquarters, Nonthaburi Province.
On this occasion, Mr. Theprat Theppitak, Governor of EGAT, presented a financial contribution of 1,500,000 Baht to Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Member and Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, in support of the Foundation’s initiatives. The funds will be used to upgrade the electrical distribution system at the Suda Duenpen Training Center and Accommodation of the Chaipattana Foundation in Nakhon Nayok Province.
