Royally-granted Home for Landslide Victims in Mae Fah Luang District, Chiang Rai Province

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously granted a new home to the family of Miss Natthicha Saewang, who tragically lost her life in a landslide that destroyed her home in Mae Fah Luang District, Chiang Rai Province. On 27 January 2025, M.L. Jirapan Davivongs, Member and Deputy Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, presided over the handover ceremony at House No. 69/Chor, Ban Hua Mae Kham, Mae Salong Nai Sub-district, Mae Fah Luang District, Chiang Rai Province.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the Honorary President and Executive Chairperson of the Chaipattana Foundation, had great concern over the plight of the parents of Miss Natthicha Saewang, a kindergarten 3 student at Chao Pho Luang Border Patrol Police School 4, who lost her life when a landslide-triggered by Typhoon Yagi-devastated her home. The storm caused flash floods and mudslides, severely impacting the area. In response, Her Royal Highness graciously allocated her personal funds to construct a new home for Mr. Abejatu Sae Jang and Mr. Alepha Saewang, the grandfather and father of Miss Natthicha, to replace their home, which was destroyed by the disaster. The Chaipattana Foundation was entrusted with overseeing the construction. Additionally, the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board (RDPB), in collaboration with various government agencies, has been working to develop further assistance measures for affected residents in the area.
