HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Harvests Rice at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy

 

 

On 27 November, 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy to harvest rice by using the rice harvest machine at the paddy demonstration plot under the initiated Paddy Farming on Vacant Land Project in Nakhon Nayok province.

 

 

 

 

 

On this occation, Pathum Thani Rice Research Center has organized three activities concerning rice cultivation, establishment of the engineering ecosystem, and demonstrative domestication of frogs and ducks in the paddy field. Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy continued to distribute 1,300 kg. of Khao Dawk Mali 105 Rice seeds to the Department of Agriculture Extension to be distributed to Baan Klong Sathorn Communial Rice Center in Prom-Manee sub district, Muang district, Nakhon Nayok province. The plan to distribution more rice seeds to other local communities was also initiated. Furthermore, students from Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy have organized various activities in their operated New Theory plot which include organic rice cultivation, organic vegetables plantation, biological fermentation, plant propagation, and oyster mushroon cultivation.

 

 

 

 

 

In this regard, Her Royal Highness took this opportunity to inspect the ducks and frogs which the Department of Fisheries had humbly presented to be raised and used as pest resistance in the paddy field. They can also serve as an alternative source of income.
