Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Proceeds to Observe the Operation Progress of “Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Soldiers)” Vachiraprakan Military Camp, Tak Province

On 18 December 2019, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn proceeded to Military Circle 310, Vachiraprakan Military Camp, Mueang District, Tak Province, to observe the operation progress of “Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Soldiers)”. This project is aimed to provide knowledge to military officers and general people. In October 2019, the project received animal breeds, royally-granted fruit and vegetable crops from the Chaipattana Foundation. The area is divided into 3 zones including cultivation plot 78 rai (31 acres), Grow the Veggies in the Home of Love Project 52 rai (20 acres), and New Theory study Center and Workshop 32 rai (12 acres).

There are many activities in this project, for example, chicken and duck raising to be distributed to military officers and general people. This place is also set to be a vocational training for the students of Wiwat Pollamuang Special School, Military Circle 310 in terms of agricultural plot planning. This project has conducted various activities such as cultivation of vegetable, rice, and fruit crops. In addition, the development of water resources and the development of soil have been conducted by using organic compost and green manure including the cultivation of sun hemp to cover the soil with hay, the cultivation of vetiver to prevent soil erosion and soil degradation around the edge of cultivation plot and pond. The use of organic pesticide instead of chemical pesticide is also implemented at this project.

 Regarding the fish raising in net basket, the military officers could apply good practice of fish raising knowledge obtained from Somdet Phra Ekathotsarot Camp to this project.
