The rice harvested this time is the non-photoperiod-sensitive RD97 rice. The harvesting period is 106 days, with productivity around 737 kilograms/rai. This type of rice can be grown in both the rainy season and the dry season. It is in high demand because of its physical quality grain and not sensitive to light. Once cooked, it has aromatic smell with soft texture. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously presented 3,417 kilograms of the RD 87 rice to the Royal Military Academy, the Office of Agriculture in Nakhon Nayok Province, and the Nakhon Nayok Rice Seed Center. This is to promote the cultivation of RD87 rice in large-scale fields of Nakhon Nayok Province.
