Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Follows Up on the Progress of “Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers)”at Ananda Mahidol Hospital and visited Ms. Jamlong Nokyim

On 20 September 2025, at 9:00 a.m., Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn proceeded to observe the progress of “Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers)” at the 100th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol (King Rama VIII), held at Ananda Mahidol Hospital. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness laid a floral tribute before the statue of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol and planted a Champi Sirindhorn tree in front of the Administration Building of the hospital.

At 10:30 a.m., Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to observe the operational progress at Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) at Ananda Mahidol Hospital. The hospital joined the project in 2019, implementing it on an 8-rai (3.2 acres) vacant plot near the Army Medical Unit. The project received vegetable seeds graciously granted by the Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development of the Chaipattana Foundation.
Since June 2019, the Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) has shown continuous growth in production, cultivating more than 20 types of vegetables. The produce has been used to prepare meals for the hospital staff and patients. The surplus is sold to the public at affordable prices. Additionally, the hospital has utilized vegetables from the project, such as Chinese kale and water spinach, to develop tube-feeding formulas for cardiac patients. The project also developed a “Banana Blossom and Ginger Tea” product as a dietary supplement to enhance breast milk for postpartum women. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously gave a royal address to the military personnel, providing guidance for their duties and offering encouragement and morale support.

At 3:00 p.m., Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the home of Ms. Jamlong Nokyim and meet with local residents of Koeng Thanu Sub-district, Mueang Lopburi District. Ms. Jamlong, now 97 years old, is a member of “Baan Nee Mee Rak Plook Pak Kin Aeng” (Grow the Veggies in the Home of Love)” Project. In 2017, she received vegetable seeds from the Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development of the Chaipattana Foundation. She has become a model for the practice of “grow everything you eat, eat everything you grow,” sharing any surplus with others. Maintaining her physical and mental health, she exercises daily by taking care of her vegetable garden and has been able to sustain a high level of self-reliance up to the present day.
