Dated back to 5 April 1983, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great paid a visit to Huai Sai and granted a royal initiative to develop and rehabilitate the land in this area for agricultural purpose due to the very arid and deteriorated condition.

As a result, the Late Princess Mother’s Garden was then established according to His Late Majesty’s initiative, aiming to be an agricultural learning center in the form of a living natural museum. This project emphasizes simple methods of agricultural practices and small-scale outdoor activities for farmers to adopt and apply in their own context.

The Chaipattana Foundation has strictly adhered to His Late Majesty’s initiative as a roadmap to operate and develop the project. From arid and adversely deteriorated condition of land, this area has finally been transformed to be the abundant and fertile area.
