Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Observes the Operation of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) in Nan Province

On 7 July 2023, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to observe the operation of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) in Nan Province. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously opened the Animal Breeding Center “Friends for Friends” in the upper northern region, consisting of the Royally-granted Frog Breeding Center, Royally-granted Poultry Production Center and the Royally-granted Freshwater Fish Production Center.

Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) in Nan Province was set up in February 2019 by the 38th Military Circle and military units in Nan Province. The Project, at Saeng Pen Operation Base, covers an area of 29.6 acres. There are 3 main activities, namely agriculture, livestock and fisheries conducted at the Project with the cooperation of 4 military units which are 38th  Military Circle, the 32nd  Ranger Regiment, the 10th  Cavalry Battalion 2nd Cavalry Regiment and 15th Cavalry Battalion 2nd Cavalry Regiment.

Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) in Nan Province have received the royal initiation in implementing the Project. The agricultural products produced from the Project are sold to the people in a cheap price, while some are distributed to people, patients, disable and underprivileged people to reduce their expenses and alleviate suffering. The public, therefore, have safe vegetables for consumption. During the COVID-19, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn granted an initiation to the military units to extend the result of the Project by introducing the locals to grow vegetables for their own consumption at homes and graciously granted a permission to military units to operate Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) under the name “Chumchon Bergbarn Aharn Plod Pai” (Happy Community, Healthy Food).

Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) in Nan Province has introduced the locals how to conduct good agricultural practices including animals raising, fish raising. The produces will be the sources to produce lunch for students. There are 16 schools participating in the Project in 5 districts, i.e. Bo Kluea District, Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Song Khwae District, Wiang Sa District and Phu Phiang District. The results has been distributed to 3 communities which are Thum Tong Sub-district Community in Mueang Nan District, Nan Municipality Community and Muang Tut Community in Phu Phiang District.
