คงมีคนไทยน้อยคนนักที่ไม่รู้จักอำเภอชะอำ ที่ตั้งของแหล่งท่องเที่ยวชายทะเลในจังหวัดเพชรบุรี ซึ่งเป็นจังหวัดที่ขึ้นชื่อในเรื่องของการท่องเที่ยวมากจังหวัดหนึ่งของประเทศ หลายคนอาจรู้จักแต่ชะอำ แต่ทราบบ้างไหมว่าจังหวัดนี้มีสถานที่น่าท่องเที่ยวที่สามารถได้รับความรู้เกี่ยวกับโครงการอันเนื่อง มาจากพระราชดำริมากอีกโครงการหนึ่งด้วย

สวนสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี เป็นโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริที่อยู่ในความดูแลของมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา ได้ยึดแนวพระราชดำริเป็นหลักในการดำเนินงานจัดทำรูปแบบต่างๆ ที่เรียบง่าย ที่เป็นทางเลือกสำหรับเกษตรกรนำไปปฏิบัติหรือพัฒนาให้เหมาะสมกับสภาพแวดล้อมและความเป็นอยู่ในท้องถิ่น โดยมุ่งเน้นในเรื่องการเกษตรยั่งยืน ซึ่งจะต้องยั่งยืนทั้งทางด้านเศรษฐกิจ สังคม และสิ่งแวดล้อม

กิจกรรมในสวนสมเด็จฯ มีมากมาย ผู้เยี่ยมชมสามารถเข้าไปศึกษาหาความรู้เรื่องเกษตรผสมผสาน ทฤษฎีใหม่ ทั้งยังมีสวนพฤษศาสตร์ที่มีพรรณไม้หอม ไม้ในวรรณคดี การใช้สมุนไพรเพื่อสุขภาพ ถ้าอยากได้ความรู้เพิ่มเติม สามารถเข้าเยี่ยมชมพิพิธภัณฑ์ที่ให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับพรรณไม้หอม และสมุนไพรได้ พิพิธภัณฑ์ติดเครื่องปรับอากาศเย็นๆ เป็นสถานที่ให้ความรู้ที่คลายร้อนหลังจากเดินชมสวนเกษตรผสมผสานและทฤษฎีใหม่ได้เป็นอย่างดี ถ้าเดินจนเมื่อยแล้ว ยังมีนวดแผนโบราณบริการแก้เมื่อยอีกด้วย

ถึงเวลาหิวก็สามารถรับประทานอาหารกลางวันได้ที่ริมสระน้ำบรรยากาศร่มรื่นเย็นสบาย มีสวนและต้นไม้สวยๆ คอยให้ร่มเงา และให้ความเย็นสบายระหว่างพักผ่อน อาหารที่ขึ้นชื่อของที่นี่คือข้าวห่อใบบัว เป็นอาหารพื้นบ้านแบบเก่าของไทยที่สมัยนี้หารับประทานได้ยาก อีกอย่างหนึ่งอร่อยถูกปากหลายๆ คนคือกล้วยทอด อร่อยแบบเชลล์ชวนชิมจริงๆ

Open a Gateway to the Royal Development Projects

Only a few Thais don't know or haven't heard of Cha-um District, a famous tourist attraction of the country situated in Petchaburi Province. Many who know Cha-um might not know that another nice place to visit, where they can learn about one of the royal development projects, is located in this District.

Suan Somdej Prasrinakarinthara Baromrajachonnanee, or the Late Princess Mother's Garden is another project under the responsibility of the Chaipattana Foundation. The Garden adopts the royal initiative to serve as a guideline of simple management. Farmers who visit the Garden can bring back the knowledge to be applied in their areas. The agriculture knowledge provided here emphasizes on sustainability, all in the areas of economy, social and environmental.

A number of activities attract people from around the country to visit the Garden. There are plots to demonstrate the integrated farming, the New Theory as well as scented plants, plants in the literature and herbal plants. If you want to gain more knowledge about these plants, a small museum has more than you can imagine. The air conditioner can cool off the outside heat after a long walk from the integrated farming and the New Theory demonstration plots. And if the walking makes you stiff, the Thai style massage service is also provided at the Garden.

A nice lunch in a nice environment is another attraction of this place. You can have lunch by the side of a beautiful pond and a small garden, under pleasant shades. A famous dish is rice wrapped in lotus leafs, a Thai traditional style lunch, which is hard to find these days. Another popular dish is fried bananas, very delicious and up to professional standard.
